During the global pandemic in 2020, I published a series of posts to guide business leaders through uncertain times. My clients’ needs changed, and I wrote these posts to help them through that difficult time.
"Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines."
Tough Times Never Last, But Tough People Do!
Robert H. Schuller
But tough times don’t only appear in the way of a global pandemics. So, I’m starting a series rewriting the posts as a reference for anyone going through uncertain times in their life or business.
Guidance for Leaders Going Through Uncertain Times:
Grounding Yourself and Supporting Others
As I take precautions and observe what fear can do to people in uncertain times, I wanted to share guidance taken from the years of experience I have had as a business owner and leader, and the inspiration that keeps me grounded at times like this.
There have been many ups and downs and there will continue to be. Such is everything in life. Take what you like and leave the rest.
Focus on Relationships, Not Pressure
In times of uncertainty, it’s important to refrain from pushing others or forcing them to change their outcomes. Respect everyone’s unique circumstances – whether they’re overwhelmed or struggling to adapt. Prioritizing compassion over control helps preserve invaluable relationships.
Be Mindful of Your Reactions
Avoid letting fear dictate decisions. Pivotal moments shape long-term results. Staying grounded and focused can lead to wiser actions.
Find Meaning in Connection and Stillness
There’s an opportunity to rediscover simple joys: clear skies, birds chirping, and neighborly acts of kindness. Slowing down fosters reflection and a deeper appreciation of that matters – love and community.
A Prayer for Hope and Renewal
This poem beautifully captures the duality of fear and hope. It reminds us that even in isolation and uncertainty, there is love, renewal, and the chance to choose faith over fear.
